I know it’s way too early to think about seed orders and deliveries as growers are still in the field harvesting soybeans and corn, but before we know it, spring will be here again and planting time will be in full swing!
With that thought in mind, it’s important to order your seed early to ensure you get the corn hybrids and soybean varieties that performed well on your farm and what a better time than when you are seeing the yields first hand in the combine.
Our seed production is based from numbers our sales team forecasts. To keep the price of seed competitive, we only produce a predetermined amount of each corn hybrid and soybean variety. So, some varieties that performed really well could be short on supply or sold out early in the season.
On the delivery side of things, we strive to deliver seed as early as possible to ensure that the seed is at the dealer’s location for pick up by the grower. If seed orders are in early, it helps us in the staging and loading of trucks and possibly miss the early spring rush.
Have a safe harvest from all of us at Thunder Seed and order early and often!
